Ingredients
  

  • Main Ingredients:
  • 600 g lamb or veal cubed
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter or vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water or meat broth
  • Dried Fruits & Nuts:
  • 6-8 dried apricots
  • 6 dried plums
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup almonds or hazelnuts
  • Spices & Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • A pinch of ground cloves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey optional

Method
 

  1. Heat butter in a pot and sauté chopped onion until golden.
  2. Add meat and cook until browned and excess moisture evaporates.
  3. Add cinnamon, black pepper, and cloves; stir gently.
  4. Pour in broth, cover, and simmer on low heat for 60-90 minutes until tender.
  5. Soak dried apricots and plums, then add them with raisins and nuts.
  6. Add sugar or honey if desired and simmer for 20-30 minutes until glossy.
  7. Serve warm with plain rice or pilaf.
