Ingredients
  

  • 1 Liter full-fat milk
  • 1 Cup vermicelli
  • 8-10 pitted dates
  • 3-4 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons ghee
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 Tablespoon saffron optional
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped almonds and pistachios
  • 1 Tablespoon raisins
  • 1 Tablespoon desiccated coconut optional

Method
 

  1. Prepare dates and nuts: Chop dates. Soak dry dates in warm milk for a few minutes. Chop almonds and pistachios and lightly roast in ghee.
  2. Fry vermicelli: Heat ghee in a pan and fry vermicelli until golden, stirring constantly.
  3. Add milk: Gradually pour in milk, stirring continuously. Cook on low heat until vermicelli softens and milk thickens (about 8-10 minutes).
  4. Add dates and sugar: Mix in chopped dates and sugar. Simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Add cardamom, saffron, and nuts: Stir in cardamom powder, saffron, and roasted nuts. Let it sit 2-3 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
