Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups milk high-fat for richer taste
  • ½ cup corn starch
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 25 g butter
  • 50 g chocolate dark or milk, based on preference
  • 5 drops vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream pistachios, shredded coconut, chocolate shavings

Method
 

  1. Heat milk in a saucepan. Add corn starch, sugar, and cocoa powder, and mix until smooth.
  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Stir over medium heat until mixture thickens slightly. Add chocolate and stir until melted.
  3. Add butter and cream, mix well. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Pour into serving cups or a large dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  5. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream, nuts, or shredded coconut as desired.
